Acceptable Use Policy
Neptune and Company

Purpose
This acceptable use policy explains how Neptune & Company's guest Wi-Fi network may be used. Guests must agree to the policy in order to receive access.
Scope
This policy applies to all guests, meaning non-employees of Neptune and Company, and all Wi-Fi-enabled devices that connect to the guest network.
Notice of these terms may be provided to guests via a physical summary card, reception signage, or vsitor sign-in log. In the event of any conflict or ambiguity between a summary notice and this document, this full policy shall govern.
Definitions
Guest An individual who is not an employee of Neptune and Company.
Guest Network The Wi-Fi network designated for guest use at the Neptune and Company Lakewood, CO or Los Alamos, NM offices.
Responsibility

Process
ACCEPTABLE USE
You may use the guest network for everyday browsing, email, and similar activities. In exchange, we ask that you use it responsibly. The guest network is provided for your convenience during your visit, not to reach Neptune's internal systems or bypass our security controls. To keep our network, our data, and your fellow guests safe, refrain from the following behaviors during your visit:
· Don't use the guest network for anything illegal, or to transmit content that is defamatory, obscene, or infringes on someone else's rights.
· Do not share the network security key with unauthorized individuals.
· Refrain from attempting to access the network from outside the premises. The guest Wi-Fi network is for in-office use only.
· Don't run network scans, packet captures, or similar tools intended to monitor traffic or look for vulnerabilities on the guest network or any other Neptune system.
· The guest network isn't approved for transmitting, storing, or processing Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), Federal Contract Information (FCI), or other protected information. If your visit requires you to handle information like this, please check with your Neptune contact about the appropriate secure channel to use instead.
· Do not connect your own wireless access points, routers, switches, or similar devices to the guest network.
· Avoid activity that could disrupt the network for other users, such as large file transfers, video streaming, or peer-to-peer file sharing that consumes a disproportionate share of the available bandwidth.
SERVICE DISCLAIMER, MONITORING & PRIVACY
The guest network is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. Neptune is not responsible for your device's security or hazards you may encounter on the internet.
To help keep our facilities and systems secure, Neptune monitors and logs activity on the guest network. By connecting to the guest network, you agree to have your internet traffic monitored.
VIOLATION & ENFORCEMENT
If this policy isn't followed, we may suspend guest network access immediately, ask the individual to leave the premises, and notify the Neptune employee who sponsored the visit or the organization they represent. Where the law requires it, we may also be obligated to report the violation to the appropriate authorities.
